Artist's Description
This batik is inspired by ancient cultures and is intended as an archetyepal mask. It is possibly the most time consuming piece I have done. The wax was applied with both tjanting and brushes, and besides the many dyebaths it also had sections that were discharged of color to achieve the many colors.
